Took a morning tour of this magnificent building. Built in the year 1877 and remodelled in the years 1904–1906.
Hard to believe that it was built over 100 years ago but still vivid and new.

Basílica y Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia
construction started in 1881 - present

the first night in BCN....walked two kilometers from the hotel.....from a distance, Sagrada Familia was lit and looked like an alien space ship landed in the middle of this city.....such a foreign mass but sat very comfortably....

As I approached and stood right in front of it...I lost all my senses of: time, space, scale, and self...completely absorbed by the magnitude.

Incomprehensible that Gaudi (architect) was able to imagine and execute such engineering challenges over 100 years ago with technologies we do NOT have today. 

How many buildings are built in our life time that took over 100 years in recent history?
